Getting Started with ExpressBill

Preparing Statements for ExpressBill

  1. Run the Account Statements function as you normally would with the following, additional step: How to run the Account Statements function

  2. Before you select BEGIN, check the ExpressBill option in the Account Statement Function.

  3. You will be prompted to enter your ExpressBill Account Number.

  4. Your statements will be automatically redirected to a file named as follows: ACCT#MMDD.TXT, i.e. 12340814.TXT

  5. When the billing process is complete, the software automatically opens the text file for you to review.

  6. Make note of this filename as you will need to browse to it in the XComm program to send the statement file to ExpressBill.  

Preparing Recalls for ExpressBill  

  1. Run your recalls as you normally do, with the following, additional step. How to run the Patient Recall function

  2. Be sure to choose an Output of 'Form' and select RECALL from the list of form names.

  3. printicon.pngBefore you select BEGIN, go to your Printer ToolS icon in the bottom right hand corner of Advantage and choose Redirect Output to File.

  4. In the 'Enter File Name' field in the Print Re-direction window, type your ExpressBill Account # plus the word RECALL, for example, 1234RECALL. Click OK.

  5. Select BEGIN to process your Recall Reminders to a file instead of sending them to print.

Sending files to ExpressBill

You will need an internet connection and the XComm software (Shortcut to ExpressBill icon) set up on the workstation that you plan to transmit from.

For server-based clients

Once the file has been created you will:

  1. Double click on the desktop icon to open the XComm program (Shortcut to ExpressBill).  XComm Program Sample

  2. Click on the CONFIGURATION button and confirm the following settings are correct:

  3. Click on SAVE ACCOUNT AND EXIT.

  4. Back at the main XComm screen, click on the TRANSFER FILES button.

  5. Highlight the file name that you want to send and click on the TRANSFER button.

  6. You will see the Overall Transmission Process at the bottom of the window.

  7. When the transfer is complete, click the DONE button.

  8. You will receive a Transmission Summary which you can print for your records, or close out of.

  9. Click the EXIT button to close out of the XComm software.

For Cloud-based clients

Once the file has been created you will:

  1. Click the Start button on your computer.

  2. Highlight Programs > Highlight Billing > Select XComm.

  3. This will open the program XComm File Uploader. XComm Program Sample

  4. Complete the following fields:  

  5. Click Upload.

 

You will receive a Transmission Summary which you can print for your records.
